New Item on a Familiar Menu

On this gorgeous Wednesday afternoon, my friend and I went for sushi, and of course, for coffee afterwards.  We chose a small chain called Marmalade Cafe.  They have a great selection of food and a bar.  We craved sushi so we got that ahead of time and then headed to the cafe.  We sat outside where there was a small breeze and the temperature was just a perfect California spring day.  As we sat, the waitress tried to give us menus but we knew what we wanted and she seemed a little taken a-back, as though that's not something that happens very often. So we ordered 2 vanilla lattes and inquired about dessert.  The waitress recommended a berry crumble and we said sure.  It was actually a berry and rhubarb crumble with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. The lattes were delicious and creamy but not too heavy.  It was a perfect pair!  10 out of 10, would order again!  Marmalade has a pretty big menu with a variety of foods, from ahi poke and flatbread to salads and pasta.  I've have their food before but this was our first experience with the coffee and I think this will become a repeat favorite for me.
